AARP is a leader in providing practical assistance to individuals 50 and above regarding employment. Worksearch, a program of the AARP Foundation, has assessment tools, a resource directory and many other valuable tools for the mature job seeker. In addition, you can find multiple points of entry into the AARP employment network.

Express Employment Professionals, a national employee placement franchise headquartered in Oregon, has taken the initiative to address the needs of transitioning and experienced workers, and to promote their unique skills and experience to employers.

The Multnomah County Library has expanded their collection of online resources that includes local and regional job information, in depth résumé assistance, and general career information. Local branches have specially trained staff to assist in the job search.

The October 2009 Metlife's Mature Market Institute study of the new realities of the job market for aging Baby Boomers.

The Metlife Mature Market Institute just released a study that finds that half of those surveyed who have retired from their initial careers have returned to work either voluntarily or out of necessity, and most boomers who have not yet retired have no plans to do so anytime soon.
